Free docent and self-guided tours for both student and adult audiences are available at the Crow Collection of Asian Art Tuesday through Friday during regular museum hours.
K-12 and University Tours
Tours at the Crow Collection are interactive, discussion-based experiences exploring the significance and cultural context of works of art from China, Japan, India, and Southeast Asia as represented through our permanent collections and special exhibitions on view. All tours meet in the main lobby of the museum and last approximately 45 to 55 minutes. K-12 student tours require one adult chaperone for every fifteen children.
Students Will:
- Explore Asian Art and Culture
- Broaden their awareness of their place in the world in relation to others
- Enjoy a hands-on experience through sketching and other activities
- Place works of art in historical context by discussing significant events in world history
- Place original works of art in a historical and cultural context
Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® K-12 Tours
Explore the Crow Collection of Asian Art galleries while aligning Mind, Body, Heart, through Art with a certified Yogiños: Yoga for Youth® instructor. Students will explore the galleries, learning about the cultures of Asia through authentic stories, discussion, and movement. Learn More about Yogiños: Yoga for Youth®
Students Will:
- Explore the galleries, learning about the cultures of Asia through authentic stories, discussion, and movement throughout the galleries.
- Discover the 8 limbs of yoga through authentic stories, music, and works of art.
- Broaden their awareness of their place in the world in relation to others
- Enjoy a Hands-on experience through sketching and other gallery activities
- Place original works of art in a historical and cultural context
Adult Group Tours
Docent led group tours, available for adult groups of 8 or more, encourage participants to look closely, to discuss observations, and to make connections between works of art.
Drop in Tours
Join Crow Collection docents for enlightened conversations in the galleries each week. Drop in tours are available Saturday afternoons at 1:00 pm. No reservations required.
To schedule a tour at the Crow Collection of Asian Art, download a Tour Request form and email it to the Educator Coordinator at education@crowcollection.org. Guided tours must be scheduled three weeks in advance.
Bus Subsidies
The Crow Collection of Asian Art is happy to provide bus subsidies for group tours on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that touring Asian art and culture will involve discussion of Eastern customs, religions, and philosophies in order to understand the works of art. The Crow Collection of Asian Art does not promote any particular belief or religion. |
